Activities and Events

Dementia Café

We run three intergenerational Dementia Cafés, where young people volunteer to support and engage with attendees. The Dementia Cafés are uplifting events, where older adults can come together to enjoy tea, cakes and an afternoon filled with joy. Each session features engaging workshops, interactive activities and lively performances, creating an inclusive and dynamic atmosphere. Our intergenerational approach fosters meaningful connections between young volunteers and older participants, promoting understanding, companionship and community spirit. These cafés provide not only social enjoyment for those affected by dementia but also opportunities for young people to learn, contribute and grow through shared experiences.

Love Not Hate

The Love Not Hate initiative was first launched in 2016 in response to rising hate crimes after the EU referendum, with the goal of promoting unity and positivity within communities. Since then, the campaign has evolved to address growing concerns around knife crime, youth violence and mental health stigma, using the power of performance to foster hope and connection. In this event, we focus on all of our talented young stars and giving them an opportunity to perform, bringing the event to life. The performances range from singing and dancing to even boxing. We also have an interactive panel session, where attendees get the opportunity to discuss multiple topics. Overall, the event is great fun and has been a huge success every year and brings a huge sense of community to everyone. Every year, the event is truly memorable, and the next event is always highly anticipated!

Silver Sunday

Our charity hosts the Silver Sunday event annually to celebrate older people and to enjoy a beautiful afternoon, filled with performances and a delightful afternoon tea. Many of the attendees often join in with the performers, making it a truly memorable event every year. The intergenerational theme promotes people of all ages to come together, honour and unite generations and embrace our community. Everyone always leaves with a smile, looking forward to the next Silver Sunday.

Feeding the Homeless

Each month, the MSH Foundation organises a community event dedicated to feeding the homeless, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals. We also celebrate Chinese New Year, Easter, Eid, Onam, Diwali and Christmas with them, making these gatherings even more special. While many take daily meals for granted, these events remind us to appreciate our blessings and support those in need. Beyond providing nourishment, they foster community spirit, connection and solidarity. Bringing people together in celebration and care, these sessions leave everyone with a smile, creating a lasting positive impact on both volunteers and those receiving the meals.
